Grunwald/
Tannenberg
1410AD |
This will be our offering for
2010; a battle billed as being the most important decisive conflict for control
of Eastern Europe.! Fought in 1410 between the Teutonic Order and a goodly
number of Crusading Western knights, against an Allied force of Poles,
Lithuanians, Tartars, Russians, and others. It was a close-run
thing, but the Allies won the day thanks to a number of factors. We will be
using DBMM. A full write up
coming soon...

Triples:
Nicopolis'08
|
We did the Triples
show
on
Saturday 15th March 2008. It seemed to go down well; lots of people
stopped for a chat, the terrain was commended on more than one
occasion. Good show.
Here are the
photos
I took...

Ian and Ant fought a
thrilling DBMM100 battle on Friday night at the
Patriot Games store in Huddersfield. It was a resounding
and bloody Roman victory over the 'unlucky' Carthaginians...

We met at the
Latvian Club in
Huddersfield and played a couple of games of DBMM (400AP) on
Sunday 17th February.
The Ottoman Turks
defeated the Hungarians in both encounters. Photos will be
uploaded soon, but in the meantime,
here are a couple I took with my phone... and here is

Nicopolis |
We put on a demo
game for the Kirriemuir Wargame Show known as Targe on
Saturday 3rd November 2007. It was our old favorite, Nicopolis
1396. We used the DBMM version rules on a 6 x 4 foot table.
The hills and terrain were modeled especially for the show. In the end we
won the "Best Demonstration Game In Show" which was a pleasant surprise..!
The accolade was accompanied by a certificate and cup which we will get engraved.
So we're
going to have to go back to defend out title next year - with something
bigger and better..!

Seven
Year's War |
This was a game that the IlkleyLads put on for
us early in 2007. It was the first of
the "Inter-Club Challenges".

Nicopolis |
Our first outing for this demo game featuring
the "Big Battle" DBA system and Rupe's
terrain board. We also managed to associate ourselves with The Lance and
Longbow Society on this one. David Lanchester of LALS seemed to like what we
did, and we generated a bit of interest from punters. This is where we
signed Robin into our ranks. an, Rupe and Rob hosted the game.

|
Bretwalda |
The first outing for Bretwalda. Ian and Rupe
hosted the game.
|
|
Gutisko |
A game put on for a number of people in an
attempt to recruit some more regular members. It was popular and we cemented
a few inter-group friendships (Ed.. Hi to Evan, Bill and Pete) and Adrian
provisionally joined us.

England Expects |
Ian designed this
naval game to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar
(1805). Ian and Rupe hosted and refereed two games for a dew interested groups
of interested lads. It went really well, but we decided that our next shows
would be purely demonstration games.
